Using Delicious

Do you work with multiple Internet browsers (eg. Firefox and Internet Explorer)?  Do you have trouble synchronizing your bookmarks between multiple computers?  Are you tired of making sure your bookmarks are backed up when you get a new computer?  Don't you wish you could get to your bookmarks when you were on someone else's computer?

Delicious is a social bookmarking site that allows you to place your bookmarks on the Web and access them from any Web browser.  You can even share them with others.  Here's how:

Step 1: Join Delicious

  1. Go to http://delicious.com/
  2. Click the Join Now link.
  3. Sign In with your Yahoo! ID.  (If you don't already have a Yahoo! ID, click Sign up for Yahoo! and create one.)
  4. You may be asked to provide security questions.
  5. You will also be asked to create a link for your Delicious account (eg. http://delicious.com/_username_).  This will become the URL you use to access your bookmarks.
    1. Select from one of the suggested links, or choose your own and click the Check button to verify that this link is still available.
    2. Click Save once you have selected a link.
  6. Click the Add a Bookmarklet button.  You will be taken to a page that provides you with instructions on how to add a Bookmarklet button to your browser.
  7. Follow the instructions on the page to add the Bookmarklet tool to your browser.
