The Word on Indenting Shortcuts

In Word, indenting is easily done using your mouse and clicking these buttons: Decrease Indent and Increase Indent.  There are also some key strokes that let you perform the same task without your hand leaving the keyboard.

Here they are:

  • CTRL + M indents an entire paragraph. (Repeat for larger indents.)
  • CTRL + Shift + M removes an indent for an entire paragraph. (Repeat to remove multiple indents.)
  • CTRL + T creates a hanging indent. (Each repeat increases the indent size by one tab stop.)
  • CTRL + Shift + T decreases a hanging indent. (Each repeat decreases the indent size by one tab stop.)

Extra Tip: You can use these keystrokes at any place in the paragraph!
